The 2012 Texas Chapter Conference – The New Frontier – will offer a variety of workshops with presenters who will expand your understanding of planning in Texas “Then and Now” and how this impacts your community. Conference topics include neighborhood planning, redevelopment/ revitalization planning, economic development, transportation, comprehensive planning, small town planning, law and ethics. Below is an interactive version of the conference program.
Do you have a timeframe to ask for abstracts for conference presentations?
Jennifer,
On February 8th, the Conference Committee did a Call for Presentations for the 2012 APA-Texas Planning Conference. The presentations were selected in March and those selected have been contacted by our Programs Sub-Committee. The Call for Presentations form required a brief summary of your project/presentation which we are using in the program for the description. If you wish to provide a new or updated summary of your presentation, you can contact Clayton Husband at clayton.husband@arlingtontx.gov and he can update your presentation.
The next Call for Presentations will be in February/March 2013 for the 2013 APA-Texas Chapter Conference in McAllen, Texas.
Any ballpark number for how much registration will cost? Some City departments have to finalize their budgets soon.
Jonah,
Full conference registration for APA members and elected and appointed officials that are APA members is $395.00 for early registration and $445.00 for late registration. Full conference registration for Non-APA members and elected and appointed officials that are not APA members is $445.00 for early registration and $495.00 for late registration. APA Life Members and Retired Members are $125.00 for the full conference and students are $50 for the full conference.
Registration should begin next week for the conference.
How many CN credits you will provide for this conference? Do you have a list CN credit for each session?
Connie,
We are currently in the process of submitting the request for conference CM credits to APA. With the exception of the Appointed and Elected Officials Short Course sessions and possibly the Young Planner Sessions, it is very likely that all of our conference sessions will have CM credits available. All conference sessions were selected based on CM criteria to ensure they would be approved by APA. A list of CM sessions will be posted on the website as soon as they are available, however, this may not be available until after registration has closed.
